Visit Artá on Mallorca

Artá is a town in the northeast corner of the island of Mallorca. It’s close to the Llevant Peninsula Nature Reserve which is known for its hiking trails and biking tour options. Artá is also close to remote beaches and coastal towns. And the well-known site ‘Ermita de Betlem’, which is a secluded hilltop monastery, is nearby.

WHY DO WE LIKE ARTÁ?

For a lot of people on the island, Artá is in a far-away corner of the island, and far from most more well-known or more well-visited locations on the island. That’s why we like it. However, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t attract a crowd. Many people come to Artá, because it’s a small town with a lovely weekly market on Tuesdays. It’s one of the reasons we go ourselves. And you can go swimming and sunbathing at the nearby beaches of Cala Torta, Cala Mesquida and Cala Agulla. And from Cala Torta you can follow the coastline to the left to visit other small bays: Cala Mitjana o sa Duaia, Cala Estreta, Cala Dentol and finally Cala des Matzoc.

Looking for a beach on Mallorca? Look for the word ‘Cala’ or ‘Platges’ on your map or check Platgesdebalears.com for real-time information on beaches near Artá.
